Anita Lang-Bakar is a California State Board Licensed Acupuncturist and a nationally certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

She obtained her Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco.

She is a certified Massage Therapist in Tuina, a Chinese form of bodywork that complements her holistic approach to healing.


She has accumulated over 1000 hours of clinical experience at the ACTCM Community Clinic and the ACTCM Auricular Clinic as well as at the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.

She also went to the Chengdu University of TCM in Sichuan, China, to further her knowledge by getting a certificate and doing rotations in Internal Medicine, Gynecology, Respiratory diseases, Gastro-intestinal and Cardiovascular diseases as well as Pain Management and Dermatology.

Anita also obtained her certification in Constitutional Facial Rejuvenation and is enrolled in a postgraduate specialization certificate in TCM Dermatology that she will complete by 2012. It is the 1st program of its kind offered in the United States.

Anita was born and raised in France as well as in Morocco and Germany. She then came to the United States to receive her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Smith College in Massachusetts. She worked on Wall Street and in finance for 20 years and is the proud mother of twin girls.

In addition to her private practice, Anita volunteers some of her time to the under-served Latino community in East Palo Alto as part of "Herban Health" free Community acupuncture.

Anita's fluency in English, French, German, Spanish and Hungarian enables her to bring Chinese Medicine and healing to a wide variety of people.
